Here I go /lit/...

Is there a particular order I should begin at? Anything I am missing for now?
>>
Do whatever the fuck you want. I don't know what you're trying to do so I don't know what you could be missing.

Well I am new to reading so i started with the 'Starter Pack'
>>
>>8399879
just pick one and read. if you dont like it keep at it, if it gets insufferable move on to another one. if you go through ~5 and you hate them all find another hobby.
>>
>>8399855
Just start with 1984. Not only is it at the top of your list but it's a typical entry level book being short and easy to read.

Thanks familia
>>
All worth a read even though your taste is likely to vary on them (didn't in particular care about Gatsby myself), one way of doing this is going in chronological order.
>>
>>8399909
Alright thanks. If I don't like the book is it worth reading despite not liking it? Should I revisit it later?
>>
>>8399855
You could delete half of these books.
Keep these :
1984
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
Lolita
Of Mice and Men
Siddhartha
The Catcher in the Rye
The Great Gatsby
The Picture of Dorian Gray

The rest is pop thrash. Start with Gatsby.

>If I don't like the book is it worth reading despite not liking it?

depends desu. if you really want to have literature as a significant hobby then yes, there's immense value to reading things that you don't like. it's invariable in any case that you'll come across "important" books that don't do anything for you, but it's still valuable to consider why it's renowned and why others enjoy it in a somewhat objective manner, independent of your personal distaste

but not everyone wants to engage with books that way. that's why the overriding criteria for most people is "did i like the book?" and there's nothing really wrong with that

it's up to you how "seriously" you want to take literature really. i would say that if you're just starting out you should at least make a strong effort to finish a handful of books that you don't like.

Depends. If you don't like it, but some aspects of it stick with you, I'd say it might be worth a revisit further down the line with a more matured perspective. I personally tend to stick with books I don't like if they're not epic time consuming behemoths, because there can often be as much or even more to gain from something you don't fall in line with as the things you like.
>>
You're putting too much thought into this

Just pick something and read, it's completely pointless to collect a whole bunch of ebooks like that when you haven't even begun anything. It's not like you'll be reading them all simultaneously so what good does it do you to have made this bundle as though it's going to prepare you any better?
>>
>>8399963
It's easier for me to download them in batch and move them to eReader all together. I'm not in my house or at my computer at all hours of the day.
>>
read the sonic book
