Heh I always buy used books online, price is often really cheap like one euro, depends on the book though
I'd tell you about the site but it's not American and doesn't ship to the US so it wouldn't be useful to you anyway
abebooks.com is pretty solid based on the couple times I've used it
thriftbooks m8

domain is rebuy.de
They only deliver in Germany and to Austria though
I buy stuff there quite often and it's mostly quite cheap, my bookshelves are now almost completely full because of it
I buy cheap reading copies on thriftbooks, amazon or abe. Then I don't have to sperg out over creases and I can lend it to people and not worry if they never give it back.
If there's a book I like enough that I think I'm going to keep it to read again then I buy a hardcover version, new, usually at a physical store (I don't really have a preference, typically just where it's cheapest) or with Amazon.

Thriftbooks then abebooks for stuff not on Thriftbooks. Amazon as a backup.
half on ebay has really shitty service (web 1.0 type stuff, outdated as fuck), book depository is expensive as balls.

Amazon, abebooks, bookdepository
I also look at library sales and thrift stores irl. Can get some great shit for like $1
