Every time I try to read a history book that looks interesting it ends up having long sections devoted to how corn impacted the economy or something like that, and I get bored.
Call me a dummy who doesn't "get" history, but I don't care about that stuff. What are some history books that feel more like a narrative, that have focus on some larger-than-life personalities and great events and stuff?
