>tfw want to write a history book on verse
I'm not planning on making it incredibly accurate and usable ad a scholarly text, but it seems to be what they did in the old days and I would like to recreate that.
Is it impossible?
Why would it be impossible?

A history of verse that doesn't include free verse would be like a history of Europe not including WW1

But anon,it's not the history of verse, it's a history book on verse

You mean *in* verse.

Are you trying to say a history book "in" verse?

I write poems about historical people/characters. An entire history would be difficult (very long), but interesting.

No, it has been happening to me a lot, since I've been writing without reading.
I've written fiid instead of food and vale instead of cake
OP here.
I meant "in verse" but I was half-asleep when I made this thread.
I probably won't go too in depth and there likely will be some embellishment. Perhaps I could do it like the old chronicles where it is done year by year.
I feel like it might be a good way of getting children into history. I've already written a bunch of little poems about The Norman Conquest
