I liked the Twilight movies, but I kind of feel like they ruined the word. I was daydreaming at work today and I came up with a simple story plot I wanted to play with a little. I'm really into the idea now, and the primary threat in the story comes from plant and animal life that has undergone some sort of metamorphosis. Affected organisms are shadowy and hostile and the whole setting is very dark. I wanted to call the dark creatures Twilight, but as I mentioned before, I feel like people will just think of the Twilight Saga whenever it's mentioned and I don't like that.
Do you think I'm being silly? Or should I come up with something else? Any ideas?
Pic related, it's similar to what I'm imagining for my world.
Come to think of it, I think I want to call the event that caused the world to be the way it is now the Twilight, as well as affected organisms.
crepuscular
My Little Pony didn't help much either.
call them Umbras
And the disease, Pholemiomis.
A recombinant virus causes regular and some animals and (rare) humans to become Umbras, a type of mutated organisms reshaped into aggressive forms. The only think it does not affect is stone, timber and other "dead" vegetation, non-plants (cotton, seeds, etc). Machinery / metals turn into a glassy stuff and plastics and organic polymers get melted.
237 years later, humanity is absolutely struggling against Pholemiomis as the mucus resulting from reshaping animals and plants and machinery, thus we devolved into some sport of gothic-victorian-agey society of cynical, dark individuals, a society built on forbidden sciences and occult knowledge to maintain its survival.
I can play with your setting for yours.

I don't like it, but you've introduced me to a lot of good related words.

I'm glad you like it, use it if you want. It's certainly not my OC. I like Umbras though, you guys are really helping me brainstorm here.
