And by 'per day' I mean spread it out through the day. Become a true bourgeoisie patrician.

As long as you can fully grasp the idea's being presented then you've got a perfectly fine pace. If it really means that much to you then I would suggest just not reading.

Depending on my tiredness or the weirdness of the writing, it can take me some time to get through a page.

I deliberate in everything I do so I guess I find myself rereading sentences to make sure I didn't "miss" something.

But the responses so far are correct, don't. Take your time, read slow, look up everything you're not 100% sure about, don't move on until you fully understand.

Personally, I read about 50 pages a day and it takes ALL day. If something really speaks to me I'll close the book and just think about it for a few minutes.

Same, but the slow reading isn't as much of a problem for me as actually starting a book. I always get hung up on whether or not I should continue reading what I'm reading or read something else.

I'm a slow ass reader too. I take like 10 minutes to read a damn page and even more time to understand wtf I just read. I constantly have to restart paragraphs, but that's mostly for school reading. I don't think that part is ADD, because my teacher mentioned it and the whole class knew what he was talking about.

As for slow reading, it could be because I never read books. I've read like 3 books in my life: a novelization of Titan AE, Issac Asimov's I Robot, and Hatchet, so I never got any practice, BUT I read those first two books in a single day each, which sticks a big fork in that idea.

I would also consider myself a rather slow reader. However, I average about 35-40 pages per hour. I also have ADHD-PI. What helps me sometimes is tracing the words with a finger although that can get tedious.

I think you will read faster if you just read more. You can also try to meditate 10 minutes before reading to clear your mind. Maybe that will help your comprehension.

What I really lack is stamina, I can only read maybe 20 pages at once, a day, before I need to take a break.

Actually, I only come here to talk about philosophy. I can't read fiction at all, I watch films instead. I literally cannot focus to read more than 5-10 pages at a time.
