Is it even worth it to read for recreation when you're not very smart?
I like reading and language, however I just feel like a pseudo-intellectual reading for leisure. Like one of those glasses wearing, bearded hipsters loitering with a book in coffee shops.
I know I'm not smart. I'm shit at STEM, graduating with a meme degree soon, have a 110 IQ, and have zero lateral thinking skills. I feel like a phony when I pick up a book. Who am I kidding? I'm not smart.

You're being unnecessarily hard on yourself.
Just keep on reading.

this, 100%
if necessary dip your toes in asyndesis too. "lateral thinking"/creativity is no different than light psychosis (seeing connections where there weren't ones before), and it's one of the several reasons why artists tend to be especially permeable people.
however, I strongly encourage you to put down the "literature" and instead pick up analytical essays if you want to broaden those skills, ruminations on feeling and social relation that you'll find in Litcore or Moby Dick (however important) are not going to do anything for you if you havent yet cultivated the skills and mindset to digest them
relax and read whatever you enjoy.

Maybe read some self-help to work on that pathetic, self loathing attitude you have buddy

Or just read Plato and check with YouTube lectures. Plato will walk you through reading shallowly to reading for depth. Especially after reading the longer dialogues you start to see how "mechanical" average STEM kids are. Their mediocrity will still land them more money than I'll ever make, but damned if I'll lose to internet debates with them.
