Difficult considering most of the best stuff comes under those categories. A couple of interesting titles which may/ may not interest you are these:
>'Why The World Does Not Exist' by Markus Gabriel (New Realism, but rejects existence of totality- i.e. the world + argues that perceptions are within the thing itself.)
>'Deja Vu And The End of History' (Temporality. A new theory of historical temporality through the phenomena of deja vu)
>>8351906
So, you believe they are `conmen`.
>>8351928
Category mistake but whatever thanks for giving me an excuse to bump
I like Nassim Taleb although he is not a formal philosopher: I consider him more of a thinker (in a good way). Be aware that Taleb likes to step on people's toes and that makes him controversial.
I would suggest Tocqueville but he is not contemporary.
I also find John Gray interesting, if a bit unbalanced sometimes.
You might also take a look at David Chalmer.
I am myself desperately trying to find some interesting philosophers, I'm going to give Elijah Millgram a try (no idea how I find him).
Probably going once again back to that hellhole r/philosophy to ask for recommedations. If philosophy is anything like r/philosophy than little interesting is happening in the world of philosophy.
Which critical theory authors have you read?
