I study literature at university (I started with the Greeks) and reading isn't what it used to be. It's dry and scientific and I'm getting sick of it. I have no motivation to keep going. I am not sure academic life is what I want anymore. Is it worth it? And how do I fix this?

It's not the same when you are forced to read and analyze something that you didn't pick. That's probably why you aren't enjoying your courses. I was thinking of doing some literature courses for further education, but I was worried that it might ruin reading for me.
I've found recently reading much, much slower has increased the pleasure I get from reading dramatically.

You can always just take a break. Go get a job somewhere like a farm and just work manual labor for a while. Pick up a hobby or two on the side. Explore different things. Then get back to it. This actually works, you know.
