Is there a writer similar to Nietzsche minus his contempt for democracy and defense of social-Darwinism?

Forgot the book, it's a later one, but somewhere he writes about how it's okay to kill the weak and lame for the greater good and how cruelty is okay and a sign of strength or something like that.

Read him carefully. He is often ambiguous and sometimes he defends things just to attack other things (particularly Christian morality). Also provocative as heck.

Still, he can be pretty harsh on you sure, if you're very much a social liberal. But... How about just not caring about that part of Nietzsche?

Start with the Greeks. It seems like you missed his arguments on morality and probably more, which you probably could have avoided had you started with the Greeks.
What do you even see in Nietzsche if immoralism is not your cup of tea? Are you just looking for people who write in a similar style?

...
read Deleuze's book on Nietzsche to properly understand him. misunderstanding Nietzsche has caused too many bad things already.

Recognizing the value-creation that Christ was capable of =/= defending Christian morality.
