Is there any such reading list for economics or /lit/ doesn't concern itself with it?
Ugh I hate the fake sophistication of reading mostly original works of classics.

Here's a idea. Read a few classics:
- Wealth of nations
- Das Kapital
- The Road to Serfdom
Read something relatively new:
- The origin of wealth
- Antifragile
Read something obsecure:
- ?
- Anthropology?
Is there any good literature on economics of Medieval Europe?

How about secular cycles by Peter Turchin? It is about social unrest but also about economics as it is the rising inequality that causes this instability.
It used France and England as examples.
Get Paul Strathern's Dr Strangelove's Game; it'll explain most of the turning points of economic thought and you can go back to the originals with a clearer overview after.
