Can you give me some advice on how to write a convincing black

I mean, a person being black doesn't really determine their personality or behavior all that much. It's more what they've been through, humor, ethics, goals, their perspective on life that flesh out a personality (which can be affected by race). So ,if you want to write a convincing character, the way they act and think should match those traits.

The best thing you can do is to of course get to know someone personally who is black, for a better portrayal several. But since that doesn't seem to be an option for you, you can look up some vlogs by black people on youtube, preferably ones that aren't super popular, you know just 15 minutes of a guy talking to a camera about stuff and take note of interesting characteristics and quirks you find there that you don't see otherwise and highlight them. Take a look on over to Humans of New York and read some stories there, a lot of people really open up and talk about some deeply personal burdens there. Go on down the street and listen to a few people interact, body language and group presence.

Depending on the location, the environment reacts different ... but this applies to any kind of character too (women in middle east, white guy in asia, etc)
