Heard a lot about Pinecone around these parts, but haven't ever delved into one of his works. What am I in for with this?

This is what Pynchon said, but I don't really think so. It's got its flaws and Tommy's too inclusive to work with short fiction, I think, but I also think it's got some terrific prose, strangeness, epiphany, etc. Pynchonesque things. It's not Gravity's Rainbow but it's a pretty good introduction to the mind of Mr. Pynchon. I'd recommend not looking at wikis or glossaries or whatever your first time around, but it's short enough to read twice in a short period of time and rereading it w/ online help makes for an interesting experience.
