/lit/, what do you think of celine's "journey to the end of the night?
was okay on average. the first half was alienating in a wonderful way but the second half was boring.
while i was reading it one day i went to the bathroom at work and tucked it under my arm but dropped it and it landed in the peepuddle beneath the urinal. "that is appropriate considering the novel i am reading" i said aloud.

fascist tripe
I disliked it, i thought it was bland and uninteresting for the most part although i did enjoy that in different places it reminded me of Voltaire, Conrad and Kafka, so it had that going for it.but a shitter version of each(yea even shitter than Voltaire)

Good when it wanted to be.

It was pretty great, the stylism itself was able to entertain.

Now listen here comrade, I'm as Socialist as they come, but if you can't appreciate JTTEOTN then I would like to have a good chat about it with you.
If you can't understand the kind of bleakness and hopelessness that leads to Fascism, then you can't combat it and put forward a convincing counter-point to the Fascist death-drive.

Can someone possibly like both? They're pretty much as opposite as possible.
