Hi /lit/, I'm a bit insecure about my writing skills and was wondering if I could get some feedback on a couple paragraphs I wrote. If this a shitty thing to ask for here then just sage/ignore this, but if you've got the time and interest I'd be interested in your feedback. I just want to know what level my grammar and vocabulary is at. The passage is as follows:
"Hey there, I just completed my first year of school and am at an odds to what specific career path I should take. There are a couple that stick out in my mind, however I wanted to get some feedback if at all possible based off my circumstances.
I'm currently in a three year diploma program focused specifically on programming, have a good GPA and the potential to transfer into university if I get a couple more math credits under my belt. Odds are I'll just graduate with the diploma, but if I find I really need to go to university for what I want then I'll probably do it.
Currently I'm considering systems development for Android or some sort of job as a Database Developer. I'm leaning towards DD because it might be an easier job to get with just a diploma, however I'm more interested in working with phones and primarily with OOP programming languages vs things like SQL.
I figure that now is a good time to have a solid path figured out, but again I'm not sure which would be best given the current job market and my credentials. Not to mention that I likely don't have a full understanding of the jobs available in such a broad market."

You have entry level drone written all over you.
>>8308534
What does that even mean?

My advice is to get to the point first, and then justify it. You meander and talk in vague generalities, like a woman.
Why are you writing me?
What do you know?
What can you do?

>comma splice
>comma splice
>comma splice
>'Odds are' is too informal
Fine I suppose. Most people are fucking awful/clueless writers.

Although I hope that isn't the introduction to your novel.

Alright, I get it, looks like I need to work on being less vague.

Ha ha, no, it's just a post a made earlier on a different board. Also wow, I can't believe I never knew how bad comma splices were. I just looked it up and it's hard to believe that after all the schooling I've had it's never been brought up in any memorable way.
