I know Tolkien is considered the father of modern fantasy, and has been ripped off countless times by basically every modern fantasy author.

However, I think George R. R. Martin if the exception, having lifted virtually nothing from Tolkien's works, and actually being more creative than J. R. R. himself, as Tolkien drew largely from religion and myths, while George's stories are a lot more unique.

Martin himself cites Tolkien as being one of his primary influences for A Song of Ice and Fire, actually. Tolkien was a legitimate scholar, who invented entire languages for his works. To say that Martin is "more unique" is missing the love letter that his fantasy works are to Tolkien in the first place. Not to mention what the previous poster said about many of the aspects and names from Martin's stories being taken straight from the history books.

as a scholar, tolkien had a quiet career, doing much, but nothing overwhelmingly groundbreaking. he was brilliant, but not a genius. the invention of languages gimmick is going to be cheapened in the near future. a computer can generate a full lexicon in a fraction of the time if takes a human.

Tolkien was critical of invented languages, especially Esperanto, because they have no mythology, etymology, or deeper reason for being. "This word is this because: arbitrary", "this word is this because: brevity/utility".

His invented languages are special because he studied the way English evolved and mirrored it in his.

This semi-subtle opinion based GRRM bait is one of my favourite flavours.

Your post is quite a good example of this OP, however, you have made a few mistakes, such as the lack of facetious reasoning presented. If you want to weave an even more sumptuous ruse in future, the kind to generate hundreds of (You)s and spawn truly thrilling threads, you should flesh your bait out a little more; give people eagerly looking for something to swallow more substance to play off, and more engaging points of argument. For example, you could have followed your assertion of GRRM's stories being unique with supporting evidence focusing around common themes of his work, employing phrases such as "gritty realism" and even going so far as to attack other authors. While this may seem like a common tactic, if done right, without being too overt, you can convey a sense of superiority and pseudo-intellectualism that are the hallmarks of a truly fantastic thread-starting, (You) harvesting bait.

That said, I admire the effort you have put into this post OP, and especially enjoy the sense of smug familiarity you have created by the names you address the authors in question with (that 'George' at the end just really did it for me), and as you can see, there have been quite a few tugs on the hook, a sign of a job well done.

All in all, I'd give your bait a solid 8 out of 10. A subtly fresh take on a classic vintage, with craftsmanship that is just a cut above the rest, but still showing room for improvement, signalling a bright future for your baiting career OP, one in which I wish you the best of luck.

As a token of my appreciation, have an image from my private collection, sure to come in handy.
