That sounds good. I've also heard about Robert Grave's The Golden Fleece and Frazier's The Golden Bough. What do you think of these? Any other recommendations?

Hesiod is the best starting place for reading primary source Greeks.

Read Works and Days/Theogony before starting Homer. It essentially serves as an introduction for learning about Greek myth, including origins of the gods and other important stories. These gods and stories are referenced often in Homer and pretty much everything else the Greeks wrote.
