Its actually interesting. I remember thinking when i was reading the book that the relationships between the man and woman was reminiscent of a romantic victorian novel.
Idealising against all odds romance that never comes to fruition.
both the woman and man cant be together not because the social realities prevent it but because they themselves are stoicly restricting themsleves and thus if they want to be true to themselves they cannot be together..
