Yeah "he was a moron"--he pretty much single-handedly invented all the sciences (that he got many things wrong is besides the point here).

To OP: just search for contemporary scholars of Aristotle, preferably such that each scholar is a scholar of a single Aristotelian theme, and not two or more. So, one for Aristotelian Ethics, one for Aristotelian Logic, etc. Deciphering Aristotle's student notes can be pretty tricky business, which is especially true for his Metaphysics, but less so for Nicomachean Ethics, Politics, and Poetics. Supplement with SEP articles, too.

Most important of all, get out of /lit/ if you want to embark on a serious study of Aristotle or anybody else for that matter.
