surprisingly, heinlein (that guy who wrote starship troopers) wrote a fat promoting short story too ('cliff and the calories'), aimed at fat girls, non-gay fat girls though, he wasn't progressive enough to promote fat dykes, well, he is just a dead white old guy after all

still it has a very high ranking on goodreads, better than hamlet lol

Ligotti is very good, the best currently publishing horror author IMHO

Also, OP, check out Mark Samuels "The White Hands." Pretty good collection in the vein of Ligotti. Can be expensive but there was a reprint in paperback so maybe you can find it online.

Also, in case you didn't know, Ligotti's books are real expensive, but penguin just recently reprinted Songs of a Dead Dreamer and Grimscribe in a Penguin Classic. He's finally affordable outside of TG.

Y'all should check out North American Lake Monsters by Nathan Ballingrud, Excellent short story collection. He has another story called The Atlas of Hell that I loved, very Barronesque.
