I'm not sure I like Borges, perhaps because I've read him in russian. It feels like writings of a genius, but very young man, something a prodigy would do when he is thirteen. A lot of his short stories are an exploration of a concept or a theme, or perhaps just a pretty symbol, with the prose and narrative being filler, as if he had preffered not to include them but felt like he had to. That one very famous story about an infinite library is a glaring example.
