I just started the Wheel of Time series. I'm a few chapters into the first book. It is absolute dogshit. I know the series is thirteen books long or so. Is it even worth it?

Why don't you read the next 4,000,000+ words and find out?
If you don't like it already, don't read it.

Blow me, scrublord.

why the fuck are you reading a children's book? are you some kind of manchild? maybe you should give up and read the very hungry caterpillar lmao

If the first few chapters are "dogshit" why would you even consider committing to 13 books? Do you really need the blessing of 4chan to make every decision?
>i hate this book!
>should i read the 12 sequels as well?
good thread

Because three separate people have suggested I read it. Moreover, I understand that it's supposed to be immensely popular amongst fantasy lot circles. I'm wondering if I'm missing something, or maybe it's a series that takes a while to warm up. Or if it is actually doghit and I'm wasting my time.

fuck off, we're not here to make your decisions for you cunt

I was under the impression this was a board about books. I'm asking for lit's opinion on a series of books. That is what you're here for, mother fucker.

>Is it even worth it?
Not having read it, probably not. When a fantasy fan says "this is a good novel", read "this makes a cool RPG setting in my head" not "this is a good novel". It's never a good novel. See Brandon Sanderson.

it's a shit series that gets praised by adults who never managed to move beyond the children's section. It's not a fantasy book, it's a children's fantasy book. If children's fantasy is up your alley go read Harry Potter since a lot of women read it and you can bring it up in a conversation.

I know a few people have compared it to LOtR in terms of fantasy. This is also s lie, then?

Meant "in terms of quality".
