It's way too general a subject to be doing the subject any justice, but people attempt it anyway.

Braudel's is pretty good, though I have some issues with it.
/lit/ has often said H.G.Wells The Outline of History is also good

Depends on what you mean by "world's history" if you're talking about like the history of planet earth you really can't beat A Short History of Nearly everything by Bill Bryson. If you're talking about a more human-centred viewpoint i'd recommend A Child's History of the World by V.M. Hillyer, it could very well be nostalgia goggles but as a child I read it more times than I can count. It's beautifully simplistic and sparked a lifelong love of history for me.
