I am almost through reading the first Mistborn trilogy, and while the story is pretty captivating is it supposed to be young adult? Does brandon sanderson pander to absolute retards? I cant go through a page without him explaining for the thousandth time, what something does or why a person does that.

Is there any good fantasy at all?

Sanderson is nowhere near as bad as you people are saying but he does heavily pander towards people that need constant reminders. If you're looking for faster stories I can't imagine you going wrong with the entirety of the Amber Chronicles like >>7883020 suggested.
