hello friends
I am looking for a word that would be used when a soldier is hurt and cannot fight anymore
something similar to "hors de combat"
does anyone have any suggestions/thoughts?
incapacitated
wounded
battlebuggered

hm not quite what I'm looking for

I'm actually currently using wounded, but I'd like a stronger word to suggest that the combatant is out of the war and has been hospitalized.
the context is this:
>I was immediately wounded and placed out of combat.
>I was sent to a hospital to recuperate. "
where I'm looking for something to replace "out of combat" with
thanks for the suggestions tho
"done got shot"

you could just get rid of the 'out of combat' part, and have 'I was immediately wounded.'

>battlebuggered
>>7812274
lazaretized

Hospitalised.
Maimed, if a limb has been lost of they have suffered some kind of permanent damage.
I honestly think wounded is the best word though. That's the most widely used for the situation, it implies you will be hospitalised anyway.

I think OP is looking for something more like military jargon. Like officially a sports penalty might say "He's in the penalty box" but players/fans might slangily say "they benched him"

Also OP go further West from that BMV to Seekers, couple blocks. Great used bookstore underground with fantastic (and weird) selection.

I have decided to go with the simple:
>I was almost immediately wounded by shrapnel in the side.
if anyone is interested in reading my story, I have linked to it here
