I enjoyed Cannery Row, Travels with Charley and East of Eden.

Surprised Of Mice and Men is what people know from him the most (although it's probably due to it being commonly assigned in school). It's the second worst i've read of his, only being better than The Pearl.

I enjoy Tortilla Flat and Travels with Charley the most. Steinbeck has written the comfiest books I've ever read.

I loved Eden, Grapes and Mice. About halfway through Winter of our Discontent right now and it's pretty slow. I feel like it's building to something good, but it's taking a long time to get there

Really? I can see how of all his books, you might be surprised that OMAM is the most well known, but I honestly loved both that one and the Pearl. Maybe it's just a difference in taste? I'm looking forward to reading more of his longer stuff though.

Pastures of Heaven was Always my favorite, so fucking subtle and affective. Of mice and men was a good story at the very least; I actually hated Grapes of wrath
