I usually listen to noise, harsh noise or a 1/32 looping sample of anything just to isolate from other sounds and focus on writing. Yeah, it's super autist.

>Yeah, it's super autist.
sure but it sound hella literary and primarily concerned with writing rather than listening to music
I usually try to listen to songs that are similar in emotion to what I'm trying to write. It kind of depressing right now because I'm trying to write a story about a school shooting.

Check Sun kil Moon - Benji
I just make a playlist that has about 5 or 6 albums on it and play it from the top. When I realize I've stopped hearing music I usually have made some decent progress.

I make playlists of chill songs or disco/soul songs that can put me in a trance. You want it good enough to pay attention to if your mind wanders but enough to tune out if you're in the zone.

I really really like Hodges. If I could sell my soul for one thing, his tone on alto would be my second option. The first is, of course, to dominated by a qt grill.

This made me listen to Crystal Castles.
Not bad.

Wow, shit, thanks man.
Pretty much anything vaporwave because it's the most aesthetic genre of music and therefore, it helps me keep my writing aesthetic.
