Is there any reason for this being such a staple classic other than its cultural context of having been used as an aid to the civil rights movement?
Its written by a woman

because it's about muh oppreshun and written by a dirty, filthy inferior whore of a female.
It's being pushed by a certain group of people. I needn't say more. But it's to make women breed with blacks.

Is that not enough?

non cardboard cut out characters, an actually half interesting plot and non shit prose would be a start.

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day OP
Based Atticus.

it's a woman, what did you expect???
Decent prose for first person, complicated situations and characters, and the colloquial dialogue flows nice.
Atticus is a well written character.

Women can't write male characters
>>7600314
I think Bob Ewell, Tim Robinson, Dill, and Boo Radley were not badly written, nor were they cardboard cutout characters.
>Men always write women so well
>>7600349
If men can't write good female characters it's only because female characters aren't worth writing about.
You can't write a good rock or a good piece of shit either.

>or a good piece of shit
oh really?
>>7600368
not as a character, moron
>>7600308
I'd say at best the prose was unoffensive but not decent. Atticus is just bland, serves his purpose but isn't at all interesting.
>>7600349
All those characters were indeed cardboard cutout though, tools for lame moral lessons and nothing more. Except for Dill maybe as he had some internal struggles each one of those chars has no depth or personalization besides the most obvious subversion of expectations.

Did you get rejected recently? So upset

Woman can be interesting or boring, depends on the author not the sex
