Hey, /lit/. I haven't really read in a while, but I'm trying to get on the good side of a girl who likes to read. She recommended me "The Chocolate War," by Robert Cormier. Is she a pleb? Or is the book actually good?

I had to read the sequel ("Beyond the Chocolate War") for my summer reading in freshman year. So...can confirm.

Yes, I now vaguely remember reading 2-4 Robert Cormier books late middle-school early-high school. The only thing I really remember about them is a pervasive depressing feeling, which is borne out by wiki. But they didn't stay with me, beyond that.
I fucking loved this guys shit in middle school, super depressing
