Has any good work of art ever come from happiness or any other general good feeling? I cannot think of a single example.

People want to hold on to happiness when they have it.
>>
Plenty do. Don't fall for the romantic sad artist meme.

Also see Renoir's paintings. They're extremely pleasant

the stereotype of the sad, brooding artist exists only from the standpoint of the philistine. Normal people close themselves off from the fundamental realities of human existence, so any openness and thought towards human suffering, folly, and death is seen as "being depressed" but this is not sadness or depression in the sense of jacking off in sweatpants surrounded by mountain dews. Artists are prone to melancholy (and vice) based on their openness to these realities but mostly due to the grueling work, intense burden, and unfulfilled expectations that come with creation. The professional artist, in comparison with the everyday 'happy' citizen, has a much deeper appreciation for life, or at least the sort of foundational aspects of life like love, nature, family, relationships etc. I imagine a great amount of art 'comes from' an anger or grief over the loss of these aspects, whether it be at a personal or societal level.

strictly in terms literature, "Happiness writes white". it is indeed difficult to DEPICT happiness in a successful way and few have done it (Tolstoy comes to mind)

Heared of Shakespeare, that one kingsman? Yeah.
