And the subject matter was just dead boring to me, even though I'm German. Before I'd force myself through books because "they are classics and everyone likes them" but I realized I have nothing to gain by doing that and should just skip to the books I actually enjoy.

My copy had a little over 100 pages, and the prose is very very simple. Maybe an hour was an exaggeration but I definitely remember reading it in two or three.
