Proper or not, it's going to be disappointing.

Just face the fact that the Dark Tower world is messy and incomplete. It's to be expected of an author like Stephen King who literally makes up the story as he writes.

This is the anti- lit suicide cult, which is why it's so hated on by lit and reddit.

King's self-insertion is either egregious or necessary, nothing in between, and Roland's fate is either entirely repulsive or natural. Roland is a character that lacks the will to kill himself to end it, and the hope of his redemption is disgusting to some and real to others.

It's a perfect storm to counter lit's atmosphere, untenable really, yet so attractive because the world is truly amazing and a testament to King's talent as an artist.

And for the record I'm pro /'lit/ suicide cult, the fucking shadows of the world outside my room form arrows pointing out the windows when I wake up each night.
