So is this actually good?
>He was the brother of 'the Arab' killed by the infamous Meursault, the antihero of Camus's classic novel. Angry at the world and his own unending solitude, he resolves to bring his brother out of obscurity by giving him a name - Musa - and a voice, and by describing the events that led to his senseless murder on a dazzling Algerian beach. A worthy complement to its great predecessor, The Meursault Investigation is not only a profound meditation on Arab identity and the disastrous effects of colonialism in Algeria, but also a stunning work of literature in its own right, told in a unique and affecting voice.

What a half-assed, pathetic little stunt. Reading someone else's book and being butthurt by it doesn't make you their equal. What a fucking joke.

Sounds suspiciously like a 'muh oppression' book.

There's a million things he could've used to base his book about French Algeria about but somehow he ended up picking the least appropriate one.

You bring up an obvious b8 book here, what do you expect?
>>7466614

No.
Cheap inter-textual relationship for hype/sales, could easily be done without interacting with The Stranger.

Deliberately Missing the Point: The Novel
The Arab was an Arab if only to highlight the Absurdity of a white man being executed for killing an Arab in Algeria. However the Stranger was much more of a focus on how Meursault was condemned for reasons entirely unrelated to the crime at all, that his life was just a series of events that lacked meaning and he has already embraced the fact that he will never find any meaning.
>>7470844
you seem to be missing the point of that novel. it's to reclaim the colonial viewpoint, that this was an arab man killed and no one cared because muh white feelings.
>>7470949
That's not really a significant point. The only people that truly should care are the court members. No one else, the victim, the killer, or anyone else involved, indicated it was about race. And there are no other segments relating to race in the entire novel.

>mfw people are so intellectually shallow that they relate existential themes with petty post-colonial gibberish to be hip
