Just found this on an old shelf and looks interesting. Is it worth a read?
>>

yes, it is.
>>
read it and find out
>>
>>7455537
It most certainly is. Not a very good starting point for Dostoevsky though.
>>
>>7455537
Yes. It's my 3rd favorite Dostoevsky behind Brothers Karamazov and Crime and Punishment.

What is?

It is a worthwhile read, but I would recommend a shorter work of his for starters, like The Double, Notes from the House of the Dead, or The Gambler.

Myshkin, the main character, is a very positive and trusting individual, and the story sees him being unfairly treated for this. He's not actually lacking in intelligence, even though others see him this way because of the interaction between his good character and circumstances that he has no control over. He's maybe unrealistic in ways (Alyosha Karamazov is moreso), but he's still a compelling character.

I recently read the first ~90 pages of The Idiot and quite enjoyed it. Where should I go from here?

He's probably just autistic (schizoid, introvert).

How so, exactly?
