i was looking into this a few weeks ago, but i jump from thing to thing very quickly, been playing with and researching yo-yos now, literally. gonna try to bring back that fad, fuck fidget spinners. i also recall V.
anyway, is it good? it seems good, there was something else i recall standing alongside it, something to do with faces. or masks, let me see if i can find it.

ah found it, The Hero with a Thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell. Those two were stuck together somehow during my research, maybe it will serve you, perhaps not in the same way as Jaynes, but it might amuse.

As for The origin of consciousness, I believe it really depends on the reader. If you value the questions such as "why does consciousness exist?", you would enjoy this book. Being that it is relatively older, of course some of the ideas are wrong. Yet it's more the analytical thought process that really keeps me reading. The ability to bring these thoughts to paper, and still make them feel so powerful, and provoking is something I truly enjoy.

i read some half a paragraph and was impressed by the author's tact, and wanted to read more, but the gnatbrain pulled me away, the dastardly one. thank you for the review, it's appreciated. it confirms my hopes for the work. i'm not certain that the joseph campbell will fulfill the same thing, but i imagine it will at least entertain and ask some interesting questions.
