What are some good books about translation? What I'm looking for is books that are less academic and more practical. For example, such books where translators themselves discuss what problems they face when translating certain texts and how they solve them.

Mona Baker - In Other Words: A Coursebook on Translation.
Source: I'm a professional translator specialising in literary translation. During studies I had to get through a lot of academic texts and this one really stands out - it's accessible, well written and very practical - deals with most of the problems you will encounter in real life
