Where does one start with this man's work? Ivan Denisovich? Most importantly, what is your favorite translation of his novels?

I definitely plan to, but I thought I would gain a little bit of background first, other than just a wikipedia summary of the man's life. Is his other stuff not worth reading as much?

I'm 20 pages into Denisovich and it's pretty good.
Just make sure you eventually make it to 200 Years Together. Btw, isn't there a new translation out? Anyone taken a gander?

Nothing is worth reading

It would be perfect if it wasn't for Caesar Markovich.. that character is simply out of place and not in a good way. He kind of spoiled the story for me.

It's my favourite book.
It's just so damn comfy.
