Firstly, don't try and put on a big act. The people you're hanging out with are hanging out with YOU, not with a caricature of masculinity. Whoever you are is who you are, and if people don't like that they can go fuck themselves.

Secondly, if you really want to adopt some more masculine traits when you go hang out, your best bet is to do a little of what >>8857868 suggested and be a bit more stoic and firm. You don't have to oversell it, but a lot of the time men are a lot more prone to inexorability.

Based on this and the pic you'd probably get the most useful information from some general nerd social skills advice site desu.

But the most important thing to keep in mind is don't overdo some show of masculinity, nothing will put people off more. Just think about shit you know women do in social interactions that you've never seen men do, avoid doing that, and you'll probably be in about as good a position as your average awkward nerd guy and get the hang of normal offline social situations eventually.

In my experience, a lot of being male derives from an inner deadness that women simply don't have. You don't have to fake being unemotional if you're not actually emotional. It's not that we're faking the reactions and behaviors that we do either, it's just that there's no real depth to it. Humor is reactive, anger is reactive, interest and disinterest, at least for men, is reactive.

So I guess what I'm saying is just go with the flow while not really giving much of a shit, unless you want to, in which case sperg out as much as you want.

It might be the weight of that reality over time, but there's no one day that you wake up and say "wow this is bullshit I want to die", it's just your childhood getting stripped away until there's nothing left by the time you're in middle school.
