I think trans people are too small a minority to have any implications on the overall categorisation of sexuality.

People who are okay with dating a trans person of their preferred gender usually just look past the natal sex characteristics and focus on the transitioned aspects.
People who aren't okay with dating a trans person of their preferred gender usually can't look past the natal sex characteristics.
And then you also have your repressed chasers who want to suck dick without admitting they're gay, your domination fetishists who want to pound literal boipussy, your garden variety channer fetishist who's just seen too much weird porn and will give anything a go, etc.

The only caveat I'd say is that there's some backing to the idea of straight men being attracted to women who have penises, BECAUSE of the penis, without the interest being gay (disclaimer, no I'm not a straight man, chaser, or wishful thinking mtf).
It's the same basis for the popularity of gangbang and cuckold porn. The presence of another penis has pretty strong backing for increasing a male's arousal due to the apparent presence of so-called sperm competition.

This trait doesn't seem to occur in any other gender/sexuality combination, and I can't think of any other gender/sexuality combination who'd have a specific evolutionary reasoning behind trans attraction.
But that's not to say sperm competition accounts for ALL straight male mtf attraction, or that it's an offshoot sexuality from simply being a straight male. It's just another potential trait of straight male sexuality. Some men like tits, some men like ass, and some men like dick. But no matter. Set aside your differences, men, and unite against the common enemy: footfags.

This. In my experience as a bisexual ftm, the overwhelming majority of cisgender gay guys are attracted to masculinity and not specifically to penis. Once you get to a point where you're masculine enough as a ftm to be wholly indistinguishable from cis guys, then it's only a matter of whether or not the dude is fine with topping all the time (or getting fucked by a strap-on).
