I get called "dude" sometimes at the coffee shop when I serve by the till, mostly by young lads, I feel they do do it on purpose... Kids give me a hard time every now and then...

People give me dirty looks behind my back, or more often give me indulgent smiles behind my back if it's a progressive area. People don't want to invite you to things.

It's hard to get jobs. Sometimes people will be curt and unwilling to be friendly.

my family are mostly awkward and disappointed about it, I have a wacky atheist grandma who's chill about it and my mum's a pretty rational person so she was spooked at first but came round to it after reading up on the medical nature of gender dysphoria and the poor prospects of repression, my dad is fucking insane but that's pretty well-documented in the archive by now I think

earlier in transition kids used to yell at me and I had rocks thrown at me once but these days nobody really even looks, I'm still gendered male pretty much 100% of the time except by friendly cashiers etc. at shops I go to regularly and have seen me around since pre-transition but it's not like I get glared at by old people every time I go out or anything like that; however, I live in the second-queerest city in the country though and the tranniest for sure (something like 3% of the population instead of the 0.3% national average, you will see at least one other trans person any time you go out into the city centre and some enby/femboy types too more rarely) so my experience might be different to that of a hon in Liverpool or Birmingham or something

I thought I could repress forever and be bi and I got laid a lot and had a few relationships that while unfufilling were normal enough. I finally broke down way too late and transitioned and while my body dysphoria is almost gone my face will always be masculine and ugly and i am just waiting to end it once and for all.
