Transitioning is always a bad idea. There are way too many risks for an ultimately cosmetic change. It's far better to continue cross dressing to satisfy the autogynephilia than it is to permanently mutilate oneself

The point still stands, that ultimately it is better to seek satisfaction through other means than through permanent mutilation. There is a massive group of post-ops that express regret for having the surgery, as the reality of the surgery is far messier than most would have you believe. Dilation has ruined many MtF people's lives alone, with the discharge, high infection rate, and bleeding all adding icing to the horrific cake.

If you will blatantly not pass, I feel like repression is the better choice unless you feel like being an obviously non-passing transperson will still help to alleviate dysphoria rather than possibly just making it worse.

Age and genetics are the biggest factors. People who are 25+ will have a much, much harder time than those who started earlier, and if you're born with an obviously male frame or face, you're pretty much just fucked. It's the sad truth and I honestly feel pretty bad for those who want to transitions but got bent over by genetics.

It's...not vague at all, anon. Maybe you didn't understand what I meant; but I've known a couple of people to go off HRT after a trial period because they discovered HRT to actually spike their dysphoria to unbearable levels. So they had to stop taking it, as the cure was worse than the disease.

That doesn't happen to MOST trans people, and no one should expect it. Most trans people have dysphoria greatly alleviated by HRT alone. But anyone looking to potentially transition should be made aware that for a small minority of people, dysphoria gets MUCH worse on HRT. If this happens to you, you should probably not try to push through it based on what OTHER people experience - act on your own experience. If it makes you MORE mentally unhealthy, you should probably look for other solutions.
