In a lot of countries, being MtF transgender disqualifies you from serving in the military. Just ask all of the transgender girls in Thailand. Also I should point out the US military did in fact ban transgender people from serving until the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

I'm not so sure about police departments however, since almost every city has its own local police force. There are thousands of separate police departments, each with their own unique policies in dealing with transgender cops.

The DADT repeal didn't affect trans rights actually. They let gays openly serve, but transsexuality was still considered a mental illness under military law until like, 2012.

Hey Sis! Either one is fine, go with what you are more interested in. I do not know much about police officers occupation, but I do know a bit about the military. Decent pay and great benefits, good for college if you want to pursue a degree. You can try to get in the military, it mostly depends on medical history and your asvab score. Talk to your local recruiter in town and they will be able to guide your through the process and answer all your questions. Try to get into the Air Force if you can. I am currently in it and they have been pretty good towards me. The positives outweigh the few negatives I have came across.
