It's probably because it's less "normal" and you know you're going out of your way for it compared to what society expects (and what society expects is something you'd actually be ok with, instead of disgusted by).

Probably the only way around it is if you find some guy you were willing to stick with and just identified as gay entirely for the time you're with them. After all, unless you're thinking about ditching them immediately for a woman, there's a bit of a conflict with saying you're bi when you're at the time only being gay and don't want to be labeled that way.
