How does sexual reassignment surgery not qualify as a violation of the hippocratic oath? It's literally a process of taking healthy organs and reshaping them into poor facsimiles of a desired form.
>>

>while having sex

If this trans "woman" was penetrating people with her penis, no wonder she misses it. The only mistake on the surgeon's part was not screening her better. People should really think over their decision to get surgery, any surgery can result in pain and regret, even something less major like BA.

She also doesn't say which surgeon she went to, which could have made a big difference. Bowers "vaginas" really are just flaps of meat.
>>
>>8579138
What procedure is BA? Also, are you saying there are different models of neovaginas on the market?
>>
>>8579106
Abortions are violation of the hippocratic oath.
>>
Because it's reconstructive of the genitals that the patient's psyche identifies with having. MtFs literally process their male genitals as a deformity and it often causes severe distress. Sexual function is retained 9/10 cases and reproductive function was already gone, its really a no brainer for any doc who actually cares about his patient

I'm guessing breast augmentation?

No.
>>
>>8579154
There is no "what if" in the original oath. I'm not saying it's immoral or moral, but when our society breaks hippocratic oath at regular basis, "x is violation of hippocratic oath" (even if it is) is not a argument.
>>
>>8579253
Society deemed it okay to skin newborn genitals but only for boys.
>>
>>8579253
Isn't almost all surgery essentially a violation though? To cut someone open, you're doing them harm.
It doesn't say "you can do harm if it ultimately helps the person more than it harms them" it just says "do no harm".
>>
>>8579106
Maybe surgeons ought to do a better job of performing the procedure in the first place.
All of this just sounds like the poor results of an American surgeon.
>>
It's reconstructive surgery; the intention is for it to be functional afterwards. The Hippocratic oath doesn't have anything to do with complications, failures or surgical regret.

And I'd like to know how long post-op this woman is. I spent several weeks after a major surgery (no, not trans-related) blackly depressed and feeling like I'd been brutally violated and mutilated even though it was a totally routine procedure for my surgeon - who is the best surgeon for that procedure in my city and who objectively did a fantastic job.

Surgery is really, really hard to get through. If she ultimately ends up regretting her transition, then she does. But I hate people cherry-picking shit from the first few months of recovery. That's not fair.
>>
>>8579146
Breast augmentation. And not only do they have different models, they have entirely different methods (penile inversion vs chonburi flap) and variations of methods (Suporn keeps his technique secret). Just look at pictures of Suporn, Brassard, Meltzer, Bowers, and McGinn, there is some wide variation.
>>
>>8579266
Yes, and?
It's not like it compares to SRS in anyway.
>>8579268
I wouldn't go that far. "First, do not harm" isn't in the oath.

Actually it goes
>Into whatsoever houses I enter, I will enter to help the sick, and I will abstain from all intentional wrong-doing and harm, especially from abusing the bodies of man or woman, bond or free
For me it sounds more like "not using your postion and knowledge to harm and abuse" rather than "refrain from potentially harmful interventions".

I had SRS and it was nowhere near this bad. That said, the dilation schedule mentioned here sounds like more than I had to do, though it's been so long I can't remember exactly what mine was in the early days. I was back at work/college exactly three weeks after my surgery.

But iamycky was pretty positive and posting selfies in her recent posts. She recently deleted her reddit account because she became aware her posts were being used to misconstrue what she meant.

So like 90% of that image is plain disavowed by the original poster as not really true. Even if that isn't disavowing or misconstruing what she meant then her positive posts at the end show she probs just had a ton of post-surgical depression.

Meltzer?
>>
>>8579408
Actually Menard, Brassard's predecessor.
>>
>>8579417
Would you say that going to a Western surgeon is worth it if you can get it covered? My main concern right now is passability...
>>
>>8579402
proofs?
>>
>>8579438
How the fuck am I going to link to her deleted reddit account? The infographic stops a handful of posts before she was posting selfies in transpositive and commenting on how she was fine and using some kind of gel or medicine to clear up vaginal smells.

It's /pol/ tier cherrypicking and it's cringeworthy of ALL the detransitioners whoever made that infographic couldnt actually get it fucking right and cherrypick the 4% that DO regret the surgery. Whoever made the infographic is a complete fucking failure when there's a reddit thread, right now on asktransgender, about her deleting her account because people misinterpreted what she meant.

From what I understand Meltzer does good work but he and Menard in his day used a similar approach, and that's to get the final, most passable result with a follow up labiaplasty. The intent with the first surgery is to get a good enough result that you won't necessarily be compelled to get the labiaplasty. If you want the results to hold up under closer scrutiny you'd need the second procedure.
I personally never went back for the labiaplasty, but I have thought about it and might still do it. Meltzer does good work, but Brassard seems to be good too, and he'd be more familiar than anyone with Menard's work.
Brassard uses a different technique than Menard did with me, and I believe it's intended to be a strictly one-stage procedure, so I would expect the results to be new, improved, and better, but I don't know how the recovery period would compare with my procedure.
I don't know enough about anyone Western other than Brassard and Meltzer, but they seem to be the safest choices.

>It's /pol/ tier cherrypicking
This is what I hate the most. When people cherrypick, twist facts, take things out of context, and outright lie to support an agenda.
The losers who mindlessly parrot false memes without checking out facts for themselves are just as bad.
>>
>>8579465
Oh okay, so I'll probably have to get labiaplasty after.... As long as the finished result passes, I should be okay...
>>
>>8579517
It's going to become a staple because people cant just search the username in the pic. Just like that gay STI bugchasing poz fiction forum that people post and say 'i-its real!' and 'even if it's not real it's believable and bugchasers
do exist!'
>>
>>8579546
It's kind of ironic that the original poster deleted her account because the posts were being taken out of context, but because the account is deleted it's no longer possible to get the proper context.
Now the false meme will live on and the truth will die.
