What does /lgbt/ think about intergenerational gay relationships?
I'm a 20 year old college student and have been dating a 52 year old guy for the past year. I really like him and we get along great. I've always felt that guys in my age group are too immature. I have a much easier time getting along with older people. We have lots of mature conversations and share many interests.
Thoughts?

I don't think I could do it, would be way too awkward. I've always found it kind of creepy how old gay dudes kind of 'prey' on younger guys. Especially when they try to exploit people in worse off situations. But it's socially acceptable among gays I guess.

>But it's socially acceptable among gays I guess.
That's a relief.
I don't think there is anything exploitative about our relationship. A typical day we would both hangout, smoke, watch tv, fuck, and play video games. The most money he's given me is $20 which I paid him back a few days later. Our relationship just feels really natural to me. I can't imagine being with guys my own age until I'm in my late 30s-40s. I'm just not really attracted to younger men or their personalities.

As long as both of you are legal. I just don't think it will last too long though. Unless he's a bodybuilder or something, in 20 years, he'll probably be wrinkly and at death's door.

its weird

26/51 here, happily married for 4 years now. I felt the same as you do about guys of my age group. Although it was even worse, 90% of those couldn't figure out what to do with their life and probably will bartend at gay clubs till the end of their days, I despise losers like that. The other 10% were whores and I'm really into committed relationship, things like "would you consider an open relationship?" makes me instantly press ABORT button.
What it was like for me:
Pros
1) We work in the same field, always have topics for discussion
2) He knows fuck ton of interesting things about USA(I'm an immigrant), so first couple of years of dating were filled with fun and discoveries
3) Homebody
4) Stability and commitment, no retarded teenager-tier behavior
5) Old people are very affectionate, hugs and kisses all day every day
Cons
1) Low sex drive
2) Patronizing behavior
3) Crippling depression which has to be shaken off(some people can't deal with the fact that they are going to die soon)
4) "Nice gold digging mail order bride you've got yourself"(gay community in the US reminds me of 14-years-old girls in middle school gossiping and doing their girly things)
With the right guy and circumstance I think it could work.
Except for me I'm young enough for the younger generation than me to barely legal, and I don't find that many older dudes attractive, unless he's maybe 5 years older max. The youngest I could go for is 18, but I stopped finding most 18 year olds attractive years ago (although there are still plenty I would destroy)
i couldnt do it but as long as its consensual then anything goes my guy

I was in a relationship with a man who was more than twice my age while in college. The only problem I really encountered with it was that I couldn't let my parents know. My dad would have probably murdered the guy.

How long did that relationship last?
>>8577898
A little over two years.

I would be open to it but my only concern would be how I'd tell my parents. I know I shouldn't care but it'd be weird bringing home someone their age (or older).
As a 24-year-old, my soft cap is somewhere in the 30-33 range.
I'm not against larger age gaps, but they're not my particular cup of tea. I've talked to older men, of course, but I've found that the generational differences in thinking are pretty difficult to overcome.
But hey, if you've found yourself an older man and it's working, more power to you.

He could be your grandfather. What is wrong with him that he can't find anyone his own age?
>>8577151
Absolutely disgusting.
I don't date fossils.

>I've always felt that guys in my age group are too immature.
That sound like the new "girls are too much drama" meme.

You are all disgustimg, as a 21yr I only let older guys duck me because age gap is a huge turn on for me, especially if they're/were extremely repressed and in the closet when they were younger because then I get to feel like relief outlet to their repression and a tool for their pleasure, old perverted dom guys and young submissive twinks are for meaningless sex only, not your gross warped ideas of a 'relationship'.

I couldn't agee more anon, fossils are only meant for fucking.

>I only let older guys duck me
Meant fuck obviously, sorry about that, auto correct is stupid.
