I wish I was alive in the 50's and 60's when gay bars were what they were. I'd take getting the shit beat out of me by cops 3 times a week just to exclusively be around other queers for a few hours a night.
Now that everything is relatively safe all the lesbians are either pastel hipster polysexual panromantic fairygenders or annoying facebook wine moms and none of them have any normal gay friends, and all the gay guys my age vape and have those huge fucking hoops in their ears. Even all the drag queens are either transitioning or are "bisexual" men with "bisexual" girlfriends who just dress up for laughs. I haven't seen a butch lesbian under 50 since I was a teen.
Maybe this was their plan. Make the country safe for fags so now everyone who feels vaguely like an outcast can make up a new label and claim to be one of us so we get drowned out in this fucking background radiation of weirdos and perverts and straight tourist "allies". If I hear "sorry I'm not into cisgender males" from a dude in a gay bar one more time I'm going to punch his guyliner off.

This is the necessary result of Stonewall and yapping about "pride" in ""gay"" """culture""". The Mattachine was right and the goal should have been integration, even if it were slower; being gay should have been left as a taste for fucking dudes only, with bars for purely practical reasons.
