I'm mtf. I hate my penis so much and wish I had a vagina but srs is just too awful, it's not nearly good enough for me to want it. I imagine that mtfs who get it either don't care about the downsides, don't know what they're getting into or they're just crazy desperate for dysphoria relief and think srs will make it better

Not really. Despite the dickchick meme there's still a high % of het guys that won't do it or accept it. Before HRT I fancied the idea of having a vagina and being fucked in it. A few years post HRT I definately have the sensation of a phantom vagina. I know it sounds cliche but its the best way to explain how it feels.

Dunno if the painkillers worked for you, they didn't for me and I definitely did not think the physical pain was worth it back then.
If I wasn't so battered after that surgery I'd have killed myself just to get rid of the pain.

Fake vaginas are nothing like real vaginas. The first thing you notice as a guy is the warmth, the second is the lubrication, the third is the softness of the tissue that an artificial vagina can never approximate to. also yea if you're in a relationship you kinda give up a little bit of autonomy to each other. obviously its still your life but if you want the relationship to continue you have to take your partner's viewpoint into account. if you want to do something that really changes your body, like surgery, tattoos, weight gain/loss, etc. you should talk about it first. if he/she doesnt like it to the point where it compromises the base attraction, then they have every right to say they wouldn't want to continue the relationship. And if you care more about the relationship than that change, you should probably rethink it
