If you've read Blanchard and read the attacks on the typology/"pretty much universal consensus" then why don't you see that they are politically opposed to the theory and nitpick to get the conclusion they want, dismissing it?

It can be used to follow patterns in trans people. You can use it yourself by predicting what people's answers will be to questions that separate the two types.

Knowing the nature of their transsexuality does help people. Being aware of what you are helps come to terms with yourself and resolve questioning.
