Same reason lesbians use the "gay flag" when they want to but when they don't they have their own, but gay men never do.

It's basically making themselves the best of both worlds in integration and separatism. They get to be part of the group when it suits them and their own group what that's better. But no autonomous group for the guys!

If L & G are split, then logically T should be split as well between MtFs and FtMs.
