To me, "manhood" is very much performative. Me, my mother, my brother, aunt and uncle and my male and female cousins are all very similar in our division of masculine and feminine interests and skills, as well as how we approach problem-solving, emotions, independency, etc. I am really only a "man" in a context where people make a distinct difference. I am a "man" when I am with my girlfriend, because she's very, very feminine and we both enjoy playing up the gender roles of the relationship. I am a "man" at work because that's what people expect of me, that's what I perform, and that's what people see. When I am with my brother, it's more ambiguous because we're both pretty open about our feelings, especially since I know he will still accept me as a man regardless of whether I have feelings or not.

I don't mind being a man; in fact, I enjoy it a lot, but it's definitely very much influenced by what parts I decide to play up. The idea of "becoming a man" is honestly just the idea of "becoming an adult", but I guess that men are, to a much higher degree than women, expected to abandon a lot of the gentler traits they have as children. Grown women are to a much higher degree still seen as children (just look at how straight men continue to prefer younger partners as they age, while the same is not true for straight women), and even a woman in her 30's will often still be called a girl as a positive thing. There's a honour in "becoming a man" that there definitely isn't in "becoming a woman".

Also, I am autistic, and I honestly NEVER understood the supposed innateness of gender. I didn't even figure out that women and men were supposed to be different until I was like, 13.

Anyway, I started actively performing masculinity as a way to be not-a-woman when I was fourteen, though I only started performing manhood these past two years, after I started seeing my girlfriend and got a job where being an androblob proved very inefficient.

For a period in my life I thought I was FtM. Since then I've been happy to identify as a cis girl, but I'm not sure if this is who I am or of I'm happy being a cis girl.

All I know is that the only way I'd be completely happy as a man is if I had a completely functioning penis, but that's impossible given our current advances in medical science. No replacement would make me satisfied.

I don't feel gender dysphoria. I think I used to. I don't know if I'm just repressing it or something. I used to exclusively get off to gay porn, now I can sometimes get off to het but it usually has to be like noncon stuff.

Anyway, there's my blog. I have a question. Is it normal to have a crazy sex drive but a difficult time getting off? Last night I made my very first cake from scratch. My favorite kind, marascino cherry cake. I cooked it in a pan that was too big (though I followed the recipe correctly), and I overbaked it. I made the egg-white frosting perfect though. But I tossed the cake.

I tried making it again today with my own changes. The cake came out great but too much cherry juice, and I fucked the frosting up and made a huge mess with it.

Mix the dry and wet ingredients separatedly, then mix everything together for 5 minutes until you get a consistent ball of dough.
